Custom Web-Based Applications

Rothman & Associates, located in the Cleveland, Ohio suburb of Solon designs, develops, builds, programs, debugs, and deploys custom mobile and web-based software applications. We build cross-platform compatible high-quality, interactive custom web-based software application programs for our customers - on time, on budget and on scope.

Since 1994, our software firm has been building web apps, delivered across the Internet and World Wide Web, that function properly in a wide variety of web browsers. While we no longer develop applications for the historic Netscape browser (released in October 1994) or Apple's Newton or the PalmPilot, our custom web-based programs do display and work consistently across a wide range of current desktop and laptop computer monitors, tablets and mobile phone browsers. We test the mobile and browser-based applications we develop at our Solon offices to make sure they work properly in Google's Chrome and Android browsers, Google Chrome for Mobile, Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, Apple's Safari browser, Mobotap's Dolphin Browser, the Mozilla Foundation's Firefox browser, Opera Software's Opera Mini Mobile, Opera Mobile and Opera browser.

Our clients use the web-based applications we build to promote and deliver new products and services to their customers. They understand that their workforce and consumers are on the move, and as a result, we are keeping very busy building mobile and web-based applications. Sometimes we even skip lunch to finish work on an application.

We recently completed work on a full-featured hosted medical imaging PACS (picture archiving and communication system) work flow software system for one of our clients located in Beachwood, Ohio. This application has enabled Perfect Imaging to become a leading manufacturer and supplier of teleradiology software in the United States.

In 2013, our information technology consulting company assigned more human resources to developing mobile and web-based business intelligence and consumer software applications so that our customers are able to improve productivity by accessing real-time critical business information online with their iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Phone, smartphone, Android tablet and other mobile devices.

In the workplace, many of our enterprise customer's employees use Ipad tablets to access the business reporting and ERP software we have developed. Through a good ongoing education and Microsoft Certification program, our web application developers continue to stay ahead of the curve. Our application development architects use a number of application frameworks to write web applications. Our favorite is ASP.NET because it makes it much easier to program standards-based web applications. We use an n-tiered approach to developing web applications. The 3 tiers are the browser for the presentation tier, ASP.NET for delivering dynamic content for the application tier and the storage tier is Microsoft SQL Server, a relational database management system. Our Microsoft Certified Solutions Developers (MCSD) are currently working to earn their Web Applications certification.

Our web site developers employ the most current web technologies such as CMSs (Content Management Systems), ASP.NET MVC, HTML5 standards, JavaScript, Windows Azure, service-based architectures, CSS3, Web APIs, CGI, PHP, and Java to run highly functional web sites, along with their corresponding applications and distributed network applications over HTTP (or HTTPS) from servers to browsers.

We developed a custom web-based application with interactive features for the Cuyahoga Community College Workforce and Economic Development Division. Take a look at www.CorporateCollege.com which is the public website.

We design, program, engineer and develop custom web-based applications for companies in Cleveland, Mentor, Solon, Medina, Westlake, Massillon, Akron, Twinsburg, Strongsville, Mansfield, Warren, Findlay, Youngstown, Toledo, Canton, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton and other Ohio communities.

Our browser interface designers are proficient at using a mobile responsive design approach and our Visual Studio, JavaScript, ASP.NET, HTML5 and CSS3 programmers make it simple for users to navigate and use the web-based application. When we develop complex and flexible web apps, we try our best to limit the amount of panning and zooming and scrolling up and down. Our web applications automatically resize when viewed on a mobile browser to fit the page.

We develop and store (host) mobile apps and complex web-based application on remote cloud servers, on servers provided by application service providers (ASPs), on our own servers, on hosted software as a service (Saas) environments and on servers that are on-premise at our customer's offices.
